Bharat is an influential person who is well connected with politicians and higher officials of the police in the city. He has a teenage son Arjun. Arjun has had a rough few years. Their “journey” to success is often narrated through nostalgic recollections of the extent to which their will and determination was a reflection of their passion. These narratives will often primarily lay their focus on the joy/thrill of "struggling" to chase one’s dreams."

The American Civil Rights Movement was a targeted attempt on the part of African American communities to put an end to institutionalised racial discrimination. The struggle saw various leaders such as Elijah Muhammad, Malcom X and Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) rallying for recognition. However, MLK Jr. was regarded as the proverbial “face” of the struggle. His iconic speech in 1963, at the Lincoln Memorial; “I have a dream” promotes an integrationist, nonviolent approach to the struggle wherein “black men and white men would join hands”. This integrationist approach involved MLK appealing to a larger public. Being a Baptist minister, he used Biblical precedents and quoted Isaiah to link racial equality with a Christian truth ordained by God. While many lauded this approach for its mass appeal; things didn’t sit well with some individuals who provided a “consequentialist” analysis to his approach. They claimed that the approach could lead to the consolidation of a national identity based on religion.
